Description
This online course will dive into the rapidly-evolving world of artificial intelligence, examining both its technical foundations and its ethical implications for the workplace. Critical questions will be explored related to ethical considerations and responsibilities for the use of AI within the modern workplace. By applying ethical frameworks to real-world scenarios, this course empowers you to critically assess AI’s role in modern organizations and address challenges in privacy, accountability, transparency, and fairness.

Registration Deadline: Registrations for the course will be accepted through September 11, 2026.A discount is available for organizations enrolling 3 or more individuals at the same time. Discounts are also available for VCU employees and military-affiliated individuals. Please email ocpe@vcu.edu to obtain your coupon code prior to registration. Any available coupon codes must be used/applied at the time of enrollment, cannot be combined with other discounts/coupons or waivers, and will not be retroactively applied.
You will receive a link to access the course in Canvas Catalog one week prior to the course start date.
Access to AI application
To complete course activities, access to an AI account will be required. Registered participants will need to secure access to an AI application by creating an account prior to the start of the course. Free AI application examples include: Google Gemini and Microsoft Copilot.
Cancellation and Refund Policies:
A registration may be cancelled through September 4, 2026 to receive a full refund. Requests for cancellation must be received via email at ocpe@vcu.edu. Refunds cannot be processed once the course material has been accessed.
In the unlikely event that this workshop is cancelled or postponed due to insufficient enrollments or unforeseen circumstances, the university will fully refund registration fees, but cannot be held responsible for any other expenses, including change or cancellation charges to include but not limited to airlines, hotels, travel agencies, or other organizations.
Transfer Policy:
Registrations may be transferred to a different person if requested in writing via email at ocpe@vcu.edu by the cancellation deadline. The participant must meet all prerequisites or qualifications required by the program.
