Description

This 40-hour intensive program covers all aspects of starting and operating a professional event planning business. Learn best practices, methods, and techniques to get started in the planning industry. Topics include:
  • Networking and client relationship management
  • Contracts, negotiation, and budget planning
  • Destination Weddings
  • Bridal shows
  • Marketing and social media for your business
  • Coordinating and directing events
  • The registration fee includes online instruction, online curriculum, course textbook, exam fee, certificate from Lovegevity's Wedding Planning Institute, student center library of resources, instructional videos and templates. Through the online student center, students can connect with other students around the world in discussion boards, messaging, blogs and individual online classes. Through the Lovegevity Career Center, students can apply for internships and/or job placement assistance.

    Within 7-14 days you will receive an email from Lovegevity (LWPI) with your login and password information to begin the online course. Students have up to 6 months to complete this online course. Please remember to check your spam folder, as the initial welcome email may be there.     Notes

    Registrations are continuous for online hospitality courses. Therefore, you may cancel your registration up until you receive your login in and password from Lovegevity and receive a full refund minus any credit card processing fees. After that date, no refunds will be given. Cancellations must be received by the program manager, Christina Draper, via email cdraper2@vcu.edu

    Online event planning programs through Lovegevity continue to run, as scheduled during inclement weather. If there are changes to meeting status, you will receive an email at the address you provided upon registration informing you of the cancelation.
    In the unlikely event that this program is cancelled or postponed due to insufficient enrollments or unforeseen circumstances, the university will fully refund registration fees, but cannot be held responsible for any other expenses, including change or cancellation charges to include but not limited to airlines, hotels, travel agencies, or other organizations.
