Dates:April 20, 2019 Alternate Course Dates
Meets:Sa from 9:00 AM to 12:30 PM
Instructor:Mimi Weaver
Fee: $45.00

Description

Paying attention.

Detaching from judgment.

Creating a pause between what is happening and how we respond.

Mindfulness meditation helps us to develop a clear mind, compassionate heart, and greater sense of well being. Meditation offers us time and space to step away from our busy schedules, to develop awareness of our sensations, feelings, and thoughts as they arise and to accept ourselves just as we are.
This workshop will introduce you to the practice and benefits of mindfulness, and through a variety of learning experiences learn how to begin creatively and kindly incorporating mindfulness practices into your daily lives. You will leave this workshop with the tools and understanding to begin your own personal practice.

Mimi Weaver, a longtime meditator, has attended eight 10-day intensive meditation retreats in the Vipassana (Insight) tradition, serving as Course Manager for one of those retreats. She has also studied mindfulness practices with teachers Tara Brach, Jack Kornfield, Jon Kabat-Zinn, Rick Hanson, Joseph Goldstein and others. In addition to her life coaching practice, Mimi provides meditation consultations for a concierge medical practice and teaches mindfulness classes for Chrysalis. She also serves on the faculty for the RUAH School for Spiritual Guidance at Richmond Hill.
