Description

A hybrid course in which students learn the basics of visual content creation. From photo + video, to set design, styling, and developing a creative process, this course is about empowering creatives to bring their concepts to life and develop a professional portfolio to further advance their career.

Course Objectives:
  1. Students will handle different forms of creative content including people and physical products.
  2. Students will develop three mood boards to demonstrate their own creative process.
  3. Students will build a professional portfolio to provide examples of their individual work.
  4. Students will present their portfolio to the group in a final presentation.
  5. Students will execute creative content in a variety of environments and concepts (studio content, product content, editorial content and lifestyle/branding content).

Online meetings will be held live online using Zoom meetings. VCU has provided you with a link where you can connect through your PC, Mac, Linux, iOS, or Android device.


Registration Deadline: Registrations will be accepted through July 15, 2024. The early bird registration fee will be $259 through June 25, 2024. Registrations between June 26-July 15, 2024 will be $299.

Cancellation/Refund Policy: You may cancel your registration up until 14 days prior to the course start date, and receive a full refund minus any credit card processing fees. After that date, no refunds will be given. Cancellations must be received via email at ocpe@vcu.edu
In the unlikely event that this program is cancelled or postponed due to insufficient enrollments or unforeseen circumstances, the university will fully refund registration fees, but cannot be held responsible for any other expenses, including change or cancellation charges to include but not limited to airlines, hotels, travel agencies, or other organizations.
