The MARI and Mandala Assessment Clinical Training

Course code:26-CEU-SW01
Dates:July 17 - August 15, 2025 Alternate Course Dates
Location:Live Online via Zoom
Fee: $30.00

Description

This course is designed to train licensed clinical social workers, counselors, psychologists, art therapists, music therapists, and other mental health professionals in the use of the MARI® (Mandala Assessment Research Instrument) Card Test and drawn mandalas as assessment tools in clinical practice. Rooted in Jungian theory and developed by art therapist Joan Kellogg, the MARI Card Test has been utilized by psychotherapists since the early 1970s. The instrument uses symbolic imagery and color to provide insight into an individual's current psychological and physiological state, readiness for therapeutic work, and areas of emotional focus or challenge. Participants will engage in interactive lectures, supervised practice sessions, and hands-on activities, including interviewing and interpretation techniques, case study discussions, and an introduction to the analysis of drawn mandalas. This course also explores how mandala drawings can reflect internal processes and be used to assess therapeutic progress.

Sessions are held via Zoom, July 17 & 18, 9:00 am-5:30 pm and August 1 & 15, 9:00 am-12:00 pm.
