Description

The Bonny Method of Guided Imagery and Music Level III Training is an in-depth study and practice of GIM. The Myth and Archetype module focuses on the practice of GIM through the lens of the mythic and archetypal realms of consciousness. In addition to the psychodynamic levels of imagery material that occur within an individual’s process, deeper symbolic levels of a more collective nature eventually emerge as well. These are known as the mythic and universal levels of the psyche, the underlying patterns deep within the collective unconscious. This module explores what these levels are and how to recognize and guide them for the client. Special consideration is given to the study of Carol Pearson’s developmental framework of twelve central archetypal figures and their relevance to one’s growth and wellbeing. The symbolic and archetypal dimension of music is also presented as a companion to the archetypal psychology of Carl Jung, Joseph Campbell, and Carol Pearson.
