This web course provides practical information on how to support and advise a beneficiary who is interested in pursuing self-employment. We will begin with a brief overview of how Social Security treats earnings from self-employment and the role of the CWIC. Building on this foundation, we will go forward and learn about how the work incentives apply in each disability program related to self-employment. The course will include various discussion board activities that will help you to understand the principles that you have learned through discussion with other participants. There will also be an assessment involving questions based on a self-employment case study.
